The flash Link mobile is really designed for technicians that install systems non stop all day everyday.

On the 2005 Focus, all the EVO-ALL does is the immobilizer bypass. Wether you are in datalink or not at that point, it really does not matter since the only extra connection that would be needed is the (-)ground-while-running wire which is wired anyway. There is really no reason to even bother with datalink for this vehicle.

I don't remember but I might need to update the EVO-ALL firmware if I change to something that isn't the DEI D2D data bus.

Theres is no need to update your evo-all if changing the RS brain. The only change that would be needed is to change the datalink protocol if using datalink, but as mentionned above, not really worth it for this setup. Also keep in mind, once the evo-all is programmed to car, it will not lose programming. You would be able to simply change the RS brain to whatever you want without have to do anything to the evo aside from making sure the (-)ground-while-running is connected.

I'm not sure if maintenance is recommended every so often to keep the firmware updated.

No, once it is installed and functional, there is no reason to go back in there and reprogram the EVO unless new keys get added to the car

I am not sure if Fortin actually provides a sufficient option for my older vehicle. I haven't looked in months, but I think it was only partially compatible with EVO-ONE.

I understand V4 flasher doesnt support old module. But V2 flasher should work. Actually, it is simple fix your website (redirect error), it should work and flash firmware2 EVOs. User paid for it, should have right to use it without any limitation.

I tried that and all that happens is the blue led flashes on the flashlink. It doesn't seem to actually cancel the the update. Does it take a while to complete?

As long as you're using the evo-all datalink cable and selected the appropriate datalink option in the evo, there are no issues to worry about.

If the entire remote starter is installed already into the car & the crimestopper unit is programmed and the only thing remaining to be programmed is the Key-Override-All (which mine seems to be refusing to do), is the above procedure the same?

Additionally, for clarity, the "Data Link Cable" is the "4-pin connector: Data Link" With Red, Black, Blue, and White wires? This seems an obvious yes to me because the 6-pin connector does not have any black-ground wires.

The Ignition wire from the remote starter is connected to the yellow/black for 2 reasons.

1. The remote starter needs an Ignition sense so that when you are driving the vehicle, the starter can detect this via it's igntion wire (and not crank the vehicle again when the engine is already running) when the key is in the Igniton (keysense)

2. If the remote starter has a built in alarm, connecting the RS igntion wire to the evo's ignition output instead of key sense(yellow/black of t-harness) will trigger an alarm when the vehicle is remote started since the RS will detect power on it's IGN wire

Pin A16 (purple/yellow) is used to disarm the oem alarm, pulsing the keysense (yellow/black) no alarm trigger since the RS already received the unlock/disarm signal first before this wire is pulsed to disarm the oem alarm. During remote starting, igntion is powered up instead to disarm.

Hi Brian, I'm sure this might be a compatibility problem of conflict between the firewall and the flash link program. Try uninstalling the manager program and then lower your firewall settings as to make sure nothing disrupts the program from installing properly. Once the program installs then re-enable your firewall settings and open the manager program and try to flash the EVO-ALL. Hope this helps!

You will most likely need to wire it independantly using the AUX output. It is not listed as data compatible in the guide.

If it's a power liftgate, the open and close is gray/black(-) at a junction box to the left of the brake pedal, 50-pin blue connector pins 38 or 40. If it's not a power lift gate, wire is yellow/blue @ BCM gray 26-pin connector pin 11.

if you want to set options when using 3x lock start from the oem remote, use the flash-link manager. the regular option setting will not work off the oem remote.

There is a ton of options. You should already be familiar with most of them since every starter has commonly used options. We are working on an install guide to go along with the Quick Install Guide already in the box but I have no idea when it would be available, we're always adding an option here and there so kind of no point at the moment.

Have no fear, I still have something for you. You will find on the website, it's hidden, our remote starter we used to install locally (FSA-206). The options are similar (but there are less). You honest best bet here is just to take the Quick Install located in the box and read through the options. You'll see, they make sense. The user guide is also very helpful.
