2010 Audi Q5 - EVO-ALL installed with harness. After remote starting the vehicle - the hatch will not open. I can hear the solinoid working to unlock the hatch, but the motor that raises the hatch does not engage to open it.

We had this same problem with our previous car starter system - was hoping the EVO-ALL would not have the same issue.

Any recommondations on things to try to get this to work properly?

Also there are times after remote starting - when trying to open the hatch manually using the button on the hatch itself, it will not open. It will only open after hitting the hatch release button on the OEM remote.

OH one more question. Is there are a data link cable extension evailable? Due to where the EVO-ALL is installed under the dash, I have to remove the lower panels to get at it to program it. I was hoping there exists an extension data link cable available somewhere. Or if I could know the connector type, I could make one myself.

I have a 2001 cadillac seville sls with an evo one currently installed. The evo one does not support dual driver presets and rear window defrost while the int-sl+ does. I have the Evo-All installed in my 2011 Ford Fusion, an installation that has been in place since January of 2014. I recently attempted to add the CRIMESTOPPER RFALL641W FM RF Add-on Kit and the Crimestopper Tele-connect smartphonne control. I am able to program the Evo-All to "see" the RF kit (if the Tele-connect is disconnected), and I am able to program the Evo-All to "see" the Tele-connect as long as the RF antenna is disconnected. But I am not able to get the unit to see both add-on devices at the same time. I have flashed the unit as instructed. If I have both connected at the same time, the RF kit works, but the Tele-connect does not.

Any ideas? Your assistance is appreciated.

Do you guys know off hand of the Canadian tire "special" ProStart CT-3310 can do 2 way data-link? There is a 4 pin bypass port on it but not sure on if it supports 2 way or only 1 way.

Installed an Evo-All + Prestige APS-57E system on a 2015 Corolla S. I also enabled the Evo-Alarm function. Everything works perfectly. But I accidently noticed what I believe could be a bad unit issue...

If I disconnect the datalink connector of the Evo-All, the horn constanly blows.

I even disconnected ALL connectors from the Evo-All and connected just the Evo-All by itself to the 20-pin harness and the horn started blowing again?? I have never seen this happen before and am worried that if the vehicles battery was ever disconnected, the client's horn would just start blowing?

Somehow, the Evo-All has an internal ground signal inside itself? I tried reseting it as well. I also disconneted the horn connector from the steering wheel column and the Evo-All would still send a ground signal to the horn wire and blow it.

Conencting the data-link conector stops this from happening the the Evo works fine again. Is this just a bad unit?

I am usining an INT-SL+ and a RS00-G5 on a 02 Trailblazer LTZ. I hooked up the module D2D to the remote start and when I go to program the bypass the light doesn't blink when I press the lock on the OEM fob. I can get the remote start to work by hooking up the green wire to the - door lock wire, after the remote start sees 3 consecutive lock pulses it starts. But once it remote starts it locks the doors (1 pulse) you enter the vehicle and leave your driveway the vehicle locks the doors (2 pulse) you go to the store and your wife gets out then gets back in you leave vehicle locks the door (3 pulse). Remote start initiates a start. Am I missing something? Is there a different wire that pulses when the factory alarm is armed? Will a firm ware update fix this?

2006 silverado 1500, using crimstopper ps04-g5 remote start. I do not understand the connection. I got all the ignition wires done, it was connected to the OBD2, grounded. I had power to both the remote start and the bypass module however it still did not work, instead it blew my ignition!

using INT-SL+ bypass. the intructions I recieved from the amazon seller said

Remote start power harness: Pre-wired to plug directly into the ignition wires in

your car using the quick connects supplied with the kit.

Remote start 12-pin harness: You will only use the ground (black) wire and the

grey wire. The rest are not used.

Remote start 3-wire door lock harness: Not used

INTSL 4-pin harness: This will plug in to the remote start

INTSL 14-pin harness: You will only use the pink and purple wires.

Was i suppose to use more?

Some say the iDatalink and Fortin protocol is equivalent while others say I need to change to D2D protocol.

I'm testing a StartSmart to my EVO-ONE but I'm having trouble with the "Program your remote" step. I can actually hear the SmartStart buzz when it receives the lock command but the remote programming fails (parking lights don't flash).

I followed the EVO-ONE + SmartStart instructions and modified a Datalink cable to fit (and grounded the grey wire). I noticed this is the only RF kit that plugs into the black Datalink port of the EVO-ONE, not the small blue port. Is this correct?

Hello, have customer supplied Prostart CT-3460TW, 2007-10-25, V.H 4.6, V 2.0, for manual transmission to go into 2004 Jeep Liberty(manual) with an EVO-ALL. The remote start has an "RS-232" port on back of module that the D2D cable from EVO-ALL will connect to. Can I use this port for D2D with EVO-ALL successfully if I select option "F1 FORTIN RS-232 protocol option in Flashlink updater? Thanks, Mike.

Honda accord, civic and Acura etc...Most of Hyundai having problem not communicatiing once in a while when using data-link, so I do installs using without data-link and this is not a big deal.

Honda has no issue using data-link but trunk release is not working. I had to use relay separately to make reverse polarity trigger. This was okay off-season but during remote start season, this will slow us down for sure.

Is there any fix for this without using relay?

Or using without data-link would take care of this issue?

What is data-link?
Data-link is a high speed data communication link used between more than one after-market electronic device. These devices include remote-starters, alarm systems, GPS and telematics devices, and immobilizer bypass or interface module(s). The data-link protocol uses the EIA (Electronic Industries Association) RS-232 serial connection and communication standard. This is the exact same communication standard used with USB, which allows various electronic devices to communicate with each other. In our case, it allows the remote-starter or alarm-system and the immobilizer bypass or interface module(s) to share a variety of different information.

What benefits are there when using data-link?
Using the data-link port to link communication between the after-market remote-starter or alarm-system and an immobilizer bypass or interface module reduces the amount of wiring required in 2 ways. First it reduces the amount of redundant wiring required for both devices. Instead of having to manually connect an ignition wire to both devices, using the data-link port will only require you to connect the ignition wire to one device, which will share the ignition status (ON/OFF) through the data-link port to the other connected device(s). Secondly it reduces the amount of wiring by not requiring analog connections in a networked vehicle. Many of the vehicles functions can be read by receiving and controlled by sending data on the vehicles data-bus (eg J1850, CAN, etc.). Our immobilizer bypass and interface modules offer control over a variety of different functions on thousands of different vehicles and can send and receive data on the vehicles data-bus through instructions from the data-link port. This normalizes the communication and allows an after-market remote-starter or alarm-system to send and receive data from the vehicle without having to manually connect an analog wire to the vehicle for every possible function.

Reducing the amount of wiring required for the installation not only simplifies the installation and saves time, but it also reduces the chances of installation error and fewer possible points of failure due to cold solder joints and corrosion.

What is the difference between 1-way and 2-way data-link?
The 1-way data-link port allows a remote-starter or alarm-system to send commands to an immobilizer bypass or interface module. This includes such commands as GWR status, door-lock, door-unlock and much more. The 2-way data-link is an extension to the 1-way data-link protocol by allowing the module to send numerous different statuses from the vehicle back to the remote-starter or alarm-system. This includes such statuses as door-pin, hood-pin, tachometer RPM and much more.

What Fortin products support data-link?
All of our data modules support data-link. All of these modules are listed in the "Affected Products" list at the top of this page. You can also manually check the features section of any of our products to determine if the module supports the 1-way protocol, 2-way protocol, or both.

Does data-link work with DEI's D2D or DBI?
Data-Link is the protocol that works all after market remote starters and alarm systems. Moreover, we include all necessary conexions to these products. Therefore, Data-Link is compatible with D2D, DEI and DBI protocols.

What remote-starter and alarm-systems support data-link? More brands of remote-starters and alarm-systems currently support our data-link protocol than any other similar protocol. Click here to view a current list of compatible brands.

Is data-link extensible?
Absolutely. The protocol has been extended numerous times to include various new features and functionality and there is still plenty of room for future enhancements as we continue to release new products and firmware with features that simplify after-market installation.

Why does my module have more than one data-link port?
Some of our immobilizer bypass and interface modules have more than one data-link port in order to allow you to use more than one module on the data-link bus by daisy-chaining them together. Although chaining together multiple devices in this manner appears to be in series, the data-link bus is in fact a parallel network, so you can achieve the same result by splicing into a data-link cable and create a T-harness with more than one cable.

What if my remote-starter or alarm-system does not support data-link?
All of our data-link modules can still be wired manually if the remote-starter or alarm-system you are installing it with does not support data-link. Every immobilizer bypass and interface module can be wired manually so it remains compatible with all brands of after-market remote-starters and alarm systems. However, since some of modules support more functions than there are wires available on its plugs, some of the less common features may only be available through data-link. When this is the case we try to make the most common features available on the plug as a wired input or output to offer the broadest range of support.

How do I troubleshoot a problem with data-link?
Since the data-link port handles most of the signals that a wired input or output would traditionally handle, it becomes difficult to troubleshoot the communication between the devices when a problem occurs. Because of this we provide the TEST-LINK 2-way data-link tester. It has 2 data-link ports and connects between the remote-starter or alarm-system and the immobilizer bypass or interface module. It allows the installer to verify 7 different input commands (Foot Brake, Tach, Overrev, Hood, Door, Trunk, Hand Brake) and has a button which sends a LOCK output.

hello.

all that i have now:

- nissan murano push- to- start (year of manufacturing - 2013), made in russia . they say that american and european muranos have a differences;

- alarm system and remote starter (all in one), not installed yet (it has data link).

i'd like to install evo-all in order to have a posibility (all together):

- 3x lock remote start by oem keyfob;

- remote start by my alarm system/remote starter;

- when the engine was remote started (by 3x lock or remote starter) and working:

            - no any lights or wiper are switched on (and after remote started engine stops the lights are off too);

            - open (unlock) the driver door (and/or all doors) by pressing keys on doors (keyless entry), after opening a door the engine will not stop (with no push button pressed if possible);

            - open doors by my alarm system (engine continues working too).

- it might be fine if the retained accessory power

if my desires are reachable:

- what is the version number of firmware should i flash

- what should i do to adjust the evo-all correctly (settings, sequence of operations)

- where should i find the installation guide?

76.10 in D2D mode - Not Supported

Did 2014 Kia Rondo yesterday w/viper brain.

Evo-All would NOT lock into D2D mode. Tech support said I needed Ver 6 hardware. Everything we have is ver 6.

Had problems with "brake" signal. Turned off the brake signal in the EVO and hard-wired and all was well.

Need to do 2014 Optima today and it shows 76.10 firmware minimum. Without a properly working D2D mode I need to do W2W :(

Please update firmware(s) to be D2D compatible! This is a Kia dealership and will be switching bypass kits to another solution that does work in D2D if no solution soon (as in a couple of weeks tops)

I confirmed the D2D problem by downloading an older version of flashlink updater. When in FORTIN mode it shows up to 76.10 however when I click D2D 76.02 is the highest option.

I have to assume it is with the firmware itself and not hardware or flashing problem.

I looked through previous questions and couldn't find the answer.......I have a 2007 Trailblazer with a Bulldog RS82 remote starter. The INT-SL is in datalink mode and has been working perfectly for over 4 years, operating the parking lights, heated seats, rear defrost, etc.

Just the other day my vehicle started shutting down about 10 seconds after startup via remote starter. I saw the bulletin about the false positive on the brake signal being communicated to the remote starter unit, so I tried the fix recommended there of grounding the green wire. However, doing this only seemed to disable the security bypass as the vehicle would then just crank and crank with no ignition. I disconnected the INT-SL and reset it several times to see if I could get any different result, but didn't.

I did isolate the issue to the INT-SL by ruling out the Bulldog unit as the problem. I did so by letting the remote starter start the vehicle, then unplugging the 4 wire connector from the INT-SL before the 10 second shut down, and the remote starter continued to keep the vehicle running.

The INT-SL is running firmware v. 3.01. I really don't want to have to try to hard wire into the parking lamps and lose the heated seats/rear defrost features. Any ideas on what else may be going wrong, or how to fix it? Please let me know. Thanks....

2007 Toyota Tacoma & EVO-RIDE: Dinging when door is open, but no key

As soon as power is applied to the EVO-RIDE (through the data link cable), the car begins dinging as if there is a key in the ignition. It continues to ding as long as the ignition is off and the door is open.

The remote start works, but all warning lights in the instrument cluster remain on even after key take-over. Owner needs to press brake to release the remote-start, then re-start vehicle with the key to resolve the warning lights.

Module came with formware version 2.03. Tried re-flashing to 0.17 as recommended by technical support since it is supposed to resolve the "Toyota Key Sense" problem. Both firmware versions exhibit the same behavior.

Remote start system is Cromestopper Cool Start RS3-G4, connected to EVO-RIDE through data link.

i am installing the fortrin evo-all bypass and the cm6000 remote starter system on a 2010 ford f150. the cm6000 has a datalink that hooks directly up with the evo-all. i read that that eliminates a lot of wiring that is needed to be done. if i use the data link what does that eliminate on hooking up the evo all and what has to be hooked up.

I have tried every option you have given me. Nothing worked. I ended up putting a brand new EVO ALL module in with the news software available and programmed right away and worked a few times. However customer called later on and says that now it only works every other time. First it cranks for about 10 seconds and stops then on the customer restarts and it works. We programmed the tach wire since it's a diesel. Any ideas?

I have programmed the EVO-ALL Bypass with no problem... I have a Compustar CS600S remote start, it is connected to the EVO-ALL D2D... When I try the remote start button off the remote the EVO-ALL YELLOW LED blinks 3 times along with the parking lights pauses then blinks one more time along with the parking lights.

I can't seem to find anywhere online what that means.

Does anyone know what the problem could be?

2003 Jeep Liberty runs 2 seconds then dies

I used a UltraStart 3295 with an EvoAll in a 03 Liberty. The vehicle started by remote start once and stayed running, every time after the vehicle will start for 2 seconds then dies. Wired in as per instruction for evo-all (connection 1, program 1). Flashed evo-all as per instructions to 4.06. Turned on D2D in options tab.

The door locks also are not working through remote starter.

The horn honks 5 times after each start fail.

Are Avital remote starts D2D compatible?

Directed Electronics makes both Viper and Avital. I read in the FAQ section that Viper was D2D compatible. If i put the Avital 4103 into D2D mode instead of ESP2/Bitwriter mode will it communicat D2D with an EVO-ALL?
