I recently purchased the THAR-ONE-MAZ5 with the EVO-ONE remote starter and immobilizer bypass module for my 2023 Mazda CX-30. I installed everything following Manual #99841, but I’m experiencing an issue.

Problem 1: Vehicle Shuts Down After Takeover

After remote-starting the vehicle using my OEM key, I follow the takeover procedure (Page 11 of Manual #99841). However, as soon as I press the brake pedal, the engine shuts off.

Problem 2: A/C & Accessories Not Working Properly

Additionally, most accessories (including A/C) do not turn on during remote start. Even if I manually activate the A/C after remote starting, I can hear the compressor running, but the blower fan does not work nor the A/C interface screen.

Mazda3 2020 cannot unlock doors after remote start

I have a Mazda3 2020 with push-to-start. Installed is an EVO-ALL and I have a modified key with a Fortin RM9MA. Up until recently, if I remote started the vehicle, I could then use my OEM or RM9MA key to unlock the doors. Now, once the vehicle is remote started, I cannot unlock the doors with either remote. The lights flash, and the gas cover locks/unlocks, but the doors remain locked.

Sometimes, if I turn off the vehicle using the key, I can then unlock the doors, but most of the time they still stay locked. I have had to use the emergency physical key to gain access to the car on multiple occasions. Please advise on troubleshooting steps.

After installing evo-one with Thar-one-maz3 on a 2016 Mazda 6, I am experiencing intermittent steering wheel turning resistance, usually on right hand turns at slow speeds, issue goes away after restarting vehicle then eventually comes back.

Issue goes away completely after removing harness/device. I have tried 2 different T harnesses & Fortin modules, same issue.

I have a 2014 Mazda 3 with same Fortin Evo-one-Maz3 setup and I have 0 issues.

would appreciate some help figuring this out.

I've installed an EVO-ONE/THAR MAZ5 in my 2023 Mazda CX-50. It all works fine so far, EXCEPT there is no 'interlock' to stop you driving off without the keys once remote started! I can start the car from inside the house and unlock the car, but then forget the keyfob in the house and still drive off... thus leaving me stranded when I turn the car off at the other end!

I also installed an EVO-ONE in our 2019 Mazda CX-5. In that car, the Fortin forces you to press the Start button before pressing the brake and shifting into gear. Not so in my CX-50 install.

Is there a configuration option I can set to make the CX-50 behave the same way as our CX-5? (Please note, I do NOT want to have the engine shut off when I unlock/open the door!)

Use evo one Remote start and alarm

I also reflashed and tried the same with car did not have oem alarm

Once alarm is activate I see and hear the clicking on the dash, but the horn does not sound

Mazda CX-3 2020 MS3G app issue

Hello. When I open the MS3G on my iPhone, a message saying "Error - The request returned an invalid code" appears. After I press on the "OK" button and try to start my car, it won't start at all. It is doing the same thing on my mom's app as well.

After I put my vehicle in ready-mode for my manual, push-to-start vehicle, my car will remote start properly, however, it immediately shuts off after about 2 seconds. Parking lights don't show any indication on why it shutdowns either. What could be the issue?

I also noticed that the wiring diagram for installation have flipped wiring colors for 7A (Back Clutch Switch 2) and 7B (Front clutch switch 1). It says the Back clutch switch should have 2 cables, a WHITE and a BLACK cable, however, in reality it has a GREY and BLACK cable. Same thing with the Front clutch switch; diagram says it should have a GREY and BLACK cable but it they're WHITE and BLACK in my car... I have tried both of these wirings actually, and the problem still persists. Even if this is not the cause of the problem, which one is correct?

I recently bought Evo start 2 for my Evo one which I have been using for more than 2 years on my Mazda cx 3 2019 with T harness. At that time I did not choose the app start option while programming the Evo one. Can some please help me where should i be connecting the Yellow wire. Does it goes into the A1. Also none of the other options like door unlock are not working. Do I have to reprogram the Evo one again. I know that the firmware should be atleast 1.21. When i push start from the app the green light on the evo start 2 is turning on but nothing is happening.

I have followed the following steps and it was not working.

Ignition ON - OFF - ON (While holding the brake?)

Press and release brake 4 times

Press and hold the Evo start button until green

Turn OFF Ignition

My car starts perfectly, but the 15 minutes timer no longer appears, I no longer have notifications and the 3 circles beside the car image no longer have anything showing one the car starts. Hi, I have a 2006 Mazda Mazdaspeed6 with a manual transmission and I'm trying to remote start it with the EVO-ONE I installed on it. I believe I wired everything correctly according to the instructions but the engine is not shutting down after I follow the sequence to enable Ready Mode on the remote starter. The doors lock and unlock confirming that the sequence was done correctly to enable remote starter but when i get out of the vehicle and close the door the engine doesn't turn off and I'm unable to lock the door with the OEM remote. Its as if it doesn't know the status of the doors?

Installing Evo-All & THAR-MAZ1 on 2017 Mazda CX-5.

Followed the guide (62391/66311... different guides if going through troubleshooter vs Flash Link guide) for firmware & options (tried firmware 85.12 & 85.11)

THAR-MAZ1 only has Start/Stop 2nd connector (24 pin) & no 32 pin connector. So I am using the recommended wiring connections minus Data Key & Door Lock Data (A10 & A20)

When programming I cannot get the module to recognize a key (blue LED, no yellow LED illuminated when ignition is turned on).

Is the Data Key (A10) required? It is not in the THAR-MAZ1 harness nor is it populated in the OEM female connector.

One of the keys to this vehicle was lost previously & only have 1. Is it possible to program with only one key? (the Flash Link Manager notes that 2 keys are required. I don't quite understand why)

The Evo is connected and programmed, but the car does not start.

2021 Mazde Cx-30, push start Automatic EVO-One , Thar-one-MAZ5 Harness, Flash-link4

1) Installed, all connections checked and rechecked

2) Options set using Flashlink on a PC as per instructions (checked again)

3) dcryptor run, on a PC, it went to and updated the access code from the internet

4) finished the programming, all lights flashed the correct colours at the correct time in the process

5) testing; I stand >15 ft away, press lock lock lock. The horn sounds lights flas as a normal car lock. car does not start. nothing happens, no additional lighst or anything else

Other points. I cut the yellow loop as started in the instructions

how do I troubleshoot?

(15 Mazda 3) Car cranks but ignition does not turn on, after steps 1-12

I can get through steps 1-12 (though the security light never displays on the dash), and when the ignition is supposed to turn the car on, the dash lights turn on, I hear a crank, but the car never starts. However, I do get the red and yellow lights flashing, so I tried connecting to the PC to use dcryptor, thinking maybe it will turn on after, but still no luck. Does anyone know what the issue is?

I'm using THAR-MAZ1 with the Evo-All and following guide 62681. Everything is plugged in, and the only wiring done is the Lt blue to Lt blue on the 32 pin connector, and the Lt Blue/Black to the red on the 32 pin connector. Am I missing a connection, perhaps an ignition wire?

Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

2016 Mazda CX5 wont start after Evo-ALL stand alone 1 key remote start

I tried with 2 program procedure a couple times without success, so I did the 1 key stand alone remote start procedure. All of the LED indicators worked correctly and the Dcryptor procedure was successful. I installed the unit back into the car and I am getting a sequence of light flashing both with the module and running lights. I double and triple checked to make sure all connections were solid and correct. No external RF is being used, so most of the those connections are left unconnected.

4A-4B empty pin to ground is connected (hood pin wire was left unattached, but was tried both connected to a ground and unconnected with no success)

Door lock and Data key connections correct and solid

D connector with parking lights correct

The main reason I did not do the 2 key program procedure was becuase the securty light was not illuminated after pressing the start button twice for the first key programming.

Takeover Issue with 2021 Mazda CX-30

Hello,

I am having an issue with Takeover with my 2021 Mazda CX-30 GT Turbo (Canada) and EVO-One with T-Harness.

If I remote start the vehicle using either the OEM keyfob (lock-unlock-lock) or with one of my two-way remotes via RF Kit, I can't successfully complete a takeover.

I unlock via door handle (advanced keyless entry), sit down, and hit the push button ignition twice, but receive a notification via dash of a Keyless Ignition System issue, and to have the vehicle checked.

Any ideas? Running the latest firmware for both Bypass and RS as of today (Nov 4, 2022).

2019 Mazda 6 not starting after successful programming with evo all

Hey everyone,

I'm trying to install an EVO-ALL in standalone mode on a 2019 Mazda 6 with a T-Harness.

I initially successfully programmed the module with the two keys, and then successfully completed the CAN procedure as well. Unfortunately I could not get it to start, the module would have the red and orange lights on but would make no effort to crank the car.

I tried starting over by resetting the module, and now whenever I repeat the programming process I see a flashing red light, which supposedly means that the keys are already linked to the unit. Doing the CAN procedure now also results in all 3 lights cycling instead of the single blue light going off. Simply plugging the module in results in all 3 lights flashing.

I'm not entirely sure where to go from here. I'd like to start over but I'm not sure how to do that.

Smart City Brake Support malfunction

Remote start works as intended. This car has what is called SCBS (Smart City Braking Support). If I start the car remotely, I get a 'SCBS Malfunction. SCBS disabled' message on the dashboard. After takeover and engaging regular drive, this message does not go away. The trouble will not clear even after turning the ignition off and restarting normally with the start button. Only if the car has been off for more than ~15-20 mins, the trouble disappears the next time I start the car with the start button as usual. I'm wondering if there's a specific setting I have to change in the configuration. Thanks in advance.

The car fires, but how to put it out with the OEM key? And the second question is what to do so that the engine does not go out after pressing the brake, but you can drive the car.

I own a 2021 Mazda MX5 Miata RF GT in a manual transmission. I'm using the EVO-ONE with the THAR-ONE-MAZ3 T-Harness. I've made sure to splice the white cable (Manual only) with the corresponding white pin A5 on the 20 pin connector for the clutch bypass .I've actually gone through a couple configurations and at this point, I chose to use suggested settings as well as the settings the manual insisted. I've also enabled 3x OEM lock since I want to use my own remote. So far, once I initiate the ready mode sequence, I triple click the lock button and the car cranks for a bit but doesnt start. I've been through the settings a couple of times over to check everything and its not clear to me what might be causing it. Please let me know if there is any additional wiring needing to be done or a certain setting that's causing it not to work. I'm so close to a successful start, yet so far.

Hi, I have and Mazda3 2019 (with push start and presence key) and installed an Evo One + Thar-One-Maz5 + Evo Start2.

I've connected the auxiliary output on a relay to activate the windshield heater and rear window defog (in the mazda3 both are activated together with a ground signal). Its supposed to ground the yellow/black wire when the seat/driving wheel heaters are activated right?

I was not able to test it yet, my car stays in a heated garage and if i understood correctly the evo one uses the internal temperature sensed by the module to activate or not the seat and driving wheel heaters (and the auxiliary signal). So the car doesn't stay parked out for long enough to get so cold inside.

If i use the defrost button in the app, will it bypass the temperature control and activate the headers/auxiliary signal? If not, is it possible to change config to manually control those?

Which one would I need for a stock car with no remote start? I only want to use the OEM key fob to control it and don't have any other starter installed. From what I think, the evo all is not stand alone, which requires another starter from viper, compustar? But the evo one is standalone and so this is what I would need to be able to program to my oem key fob?

Specific Mazda questions, but some background knowledge: Mazda cars have this issue where if a car has been remote started, the engine shuts off if the door is opened. It's a "safety feature " but clearly very poorly thought out. I'm wondering if Fortin is able to bypass it.

1) for a 2016 cx5 automatic, would the engine stop when a door is opened ? In this video below (skip to 15:15 if not already linked) you can see how this gentleman can open the door and engine still runs.

This is a weird one, and not really a big deal but I figured I would mention it ...

When I remote start my CX5 it won't resume mp3 playback from a USB flash drive, in fact the flash drive won't even be detected as being inserted, but when started with the push start it works ...

Also I believe before upgrading my CX5 with Carplay/Android Auto using the official USB hub, I'm pretty sure it actaully worked just fine ...

I'm not sure why it would be behaving this way, but that's what it does :)

I don't like seeing DTC codes as you can tell, and I don't think it's normal to see them ...

This is the description of the fault:

CAN communication line malfunction between start stop unit and PCM
Start stop unit internal malfunction

I'm getting my PCM updated in a couple of days at a Mazda dealer,
can a Fortin enginner verify that this is normal and won't affect the procedure?

Will this issue be corrected with an Evo One firmware update, or
is there some technical issue making this not possible to fix?

I would like to buy your EVO-ONE (or EVO-ALL) for my Mazda 6 2.5 Petrol, Automatic, 2020 (100th Anniversary edition). My preferences are:

1. Remote start via App (Android)

2. Automatic turning on of the Heated Seat and steering wheel if the temperature is below 5 or 10 degrees celsius (optionaly, turning on over Android app)

If I understand your systems right, I would need:

EVO-ONE + THAR-ONE-MAZ3 + FLASH-LINK UPDATER (for istallation) + EVO START (2) (For mbile connection options)

A) Can be heated seats function controlled by CAN-BUS? Or I have to use specific I/O of EVO-ONE? I do not want to cut any of OEM wirings, due to 5 years car Warranty.

B) As I live in EU, I see there is problem to use your EVO START cellular system outside CA. Is there any chance to use it in Europe, or there is no chance (new SIM card or whatever) ?

If I can not use EVO START, is there any alternate solution? E.g. using of mobile controlled "black box" from other supplier and get it connected to control your system?

2015 Mazda 3 Won't Start after successful Programming/Decrypt

Hello,

I am trying to install an EVO ALL as a standalone remote starter unit in a 2015 Automatic Mazda 3 w/Push to Start.

I used a MAZ1 T-Harness to install, and properly soldered in the two CAN wire connections for the door locks, verified D1 and C1 are enabled in the options, and also Disabled A11 as I do not have a OEM Hood Pin, and Wired in the blue hood pin wire to the included hood pin, and installed it. I have verified that when closed, wire is not grounded, and when open the the wire has ground to the unit.

I was able to successfully program 2 keys, and connect the unit to be decrypted, which finished successfully.

Now when trying to start the unit with 3x Lock from outside the car, the car will not start.

Monitoring the LED's on the unit show the Blue CAN light flashing first, triggering the lock sequence, followed by the Red LED turning on solid, then the Yellow LED on solid...but then nothing happens. It then tries to retry the sequence it seems.

I am not getting any Red LED Flashing afterwards at all.

For a 2010 Mazda 6 Standard Key (instructions https://cdn02.fortin.ca/download/80571/evo-one_ig_reg_bi_maz_6_2009-2013_key_a_80571.pdf), I can't get the Dcryptor process (specifically step 5) to work for the EVO-ONE. The unit was removed and reinstalled, and I reflashed and master reset the bypass (Flashlink recommended 7.44 and I followed the hold down prog button while connecting 6-pin, then hold down again until all LEDs cycle).

When I get to step 5, both the yellow and red LEDs are on and the red LED never turns off to proceed to step 6. If I turn off the ignition, both yellow and red remain on. I have tried the 2 key method and it will not work either. I have resoldered the TX and RX lines on the transponder connector as well. The unit otherwise attempts to remote start the car, but the security light flashes quickly on the dashboard and remote start is not successful, then the parking lights flash 4x after the failed start. Any other suggestions?

Do you have a copy of the old installation guide for EVO-ONE in a 2010 Mazda 6 Standard Key? I purchased and installed in early 2019 and the unit was manufactured in 2018. The new instructions say the unit has to be manufactured after 2019 but the old instructions didn't have that limitation. I had an unrelated electrical issue with the vehicle and had to disconnect the EVO-ONE and its wiring, and now that I have resolved that, I want to make sure I reinstall in the correct way with the correct firmware versions.

EVO-ONE - failed MA inspection after install 19 Mazda cx-5

Went for a state inspection a few days after install failed because weak battery that was my fault a light was left on in the cabin, went back a couple hundred miles later and massachusetts state inspection lists certain systems as not ready. Anyone else seen this caused by the evo install? Could I temporarily remove the evo and the harness for the purpose of the inspection and put it back without damage?
