2019 Toyota Rav4 Push Start

Question

Hello.  I am trying to program this myself after spending a lot of time and money over the years getting it reprogrammed as it seems to lose memory when major service is done.  I assume that is likely a Toyota issue that can't be helped.

I have about 6 to 8  hours in trying to make this work with little success but am concerned about all the wear and tear on the clips and wires from taking it in and out trying to get it to work so its time to ask for help.

Perhaps verifying which manual is it that I should be using please and thanks.  The instructions seems simple but I am missing something.  I did just notice that all the instructions mentioned modules made after 2019 and over while mine is 2016 despite my Rav being a 2019.  Was it obsolete when installed or is that irrelevant?

The instructions that show up when trying to program this is Guide 83841 but i have been looking at many others trying to get it to work.

Hello,

If you are doing wire to wire connections and 3x lock start from the oem remote then that is the wrong guide to follow.

I never did get it working.  I returned to the place where i bought it.  They replaced the main module that didn't help.  They then replaced the wiring harness.  My unit now starts the car with my keys but my phone application does not work.  My seller was very nice and did not charge me for the work but gave up on it.    I called the installer that lives in Chatham and he said to call you to see if something needs to be reset on your end to make the cell phone starter work.  Does that seem correct?    I hoped to have it working for winter but is has been many months of avoidance on my part.

What is the S/N number on the back of the evo module?

The antennae stuck on my window looks like an evo-start 2.    I don't see a number on it.

It is a "key" shape and is not square like the Evo-start-1 looks.  I know it didn't have a monthy cost.  The new ones seem to have a small cost.

Your module is set up correctly to accept the telematics device.

Please note evo start 2 works in limited areas in eastern Ontario and western Quebec.

The network/app that runs evo start2 is also no longer being maintained or updated, so signal strength & connectivity may not always be accurate.

Thanks.   I will give it a shot.   I tried to get mine going after it lost its memory due to a long repair but it didn't work out.   

The installer suspected that I bricked it.  Is that possible during a normal programming assuming no power / communication interruption?

I never did try to flash it to get my phone app working.    My Rav died and 2200 dollars later, Toyota removed my auto-start as the vinyl tape that the installer used dried up and fell off ending up with a short.  I think they could have just fixed it up better but that ship is sailed and I was pretty much at their mercy with this. They really could have told me that my entire wiring harness was fried and I wouldn't have known any different so...that's that. grumble grumble.   Taking it to a general garage would have been a better idea than to the oil change and brakes dealership.  my mistake it seems.

The installer had told me that he had to replace the original stick wiring with a plug and play harness but that does not seem to be the case.

I might put it back in and wonder if there is a plug and play harness?

Yes, the thar-toy13 is compatible with the 2019 rav4 pts.

Please note modules with a manufacture date of older than 5 years are not re configurable at the flash link.
