Troubleshooting help on Evo Start amber flashing light (2x) on Mazda cx5 2020

0 votes

I have purchased the Evo-One car starter. I have installed everything correctly with the T-harness. I have benn using it for a couple months without issues. I have recently purchased a second hand Evo Start antenna and am trying to sync it with my unit. I have had the password and accesses transfered from the previous user. I have sucessfully entered the app. I have done the factory reset sequence on the antenna. I have now done the steps to have it synced with my evo-one unit. All the steps seem to have worked out correctly, but when I try starting the car I am getting a error code (amber light flashing 2x). In the manual it says : "Validation pending (make sure that the EVO-START yellow (+) ignition wire is properly connected to the vehicle's (+) ignition wire.)"

Any ideas on how to fix this issue? I am not sure if the yellow wire is requiered to be connected? I have a Mazda CX5 2020 automatic push start. I have the Evo Start 2 app, do I need to have the Evo Start (original) app? Does it make a difference?

Thanks for all the help!

Hello,

Yes the yellow wire must be connected to the vehicles ignition. Onec that is done try performing the validation test:

Please note evo start 2 only works in select parts of ontario and quebec.

Best regards

Hello! Thanks for the answer. I have tried it but I never got the purple flashing light after multiple tries... I could retry again and see.

I am in Quebec, so I'm all good in that perspective.

Thanks!
You wont get the purple flashing light if ignition is not connected to the yellow wire of the evo start2 antenna. I would give that a try first then re attempt the validation test.
Do you know where I can find a tutorial video on how to connect it? Its my first time doing the installation so I dont know where to connect it.

I have nothing on connecting the wire in the manual. Thanks a lot!
If you are using the maz3 t-harness, on the main 6 pin connector of the evo-one there will be a pink wire, splice the yellow wire from the evo start 2 antenna into that pink wire.

If you do not know how to splice a wire simply go onto google or youtube and watch a few tutorials.
