EVO-ALL cannot program sacrificied key in a standlone installation for Tiguan 2020 PTS

I am trying to setup a standalone installation for Volkswagen Tiguan 2020 European Trim with PTS and with digital cluster
I have wrapped the sacrificied key (even tried an oem ring) and connected the wiring following the guide # 94761

The ignition is not turning ON during programming (seems that Evo-All is not getting the key data from pin D5 and hence not sending it via pin D4 to the vehicle)
Hence when i press ingition ON during progamming the car tells me to get the key inside the vehicle

Hello,

You need a smart key with the battery in it to program the evo to the vehicle and to be able to turn on the ignition, the key wrap has nothing to do with the can bus programming.

Also please turn on options A1-A10 in the unit.

Thank you for the clarification.
Since the guide does not mention the presence of a second key during programming, I would like to confirm my setup and programming procedure.

I have total of two keys available:

  • One healthy SmartKey with a battery installed.
  • One sacrificed key used for the transponder bypass (battery removed and wrapped with the coil).

For the hood input, I am not connecting A8 to anything because the vehicle has a functional OEM hood status (displayed in the instrument cluster). I have therefore set A11 to OFF.

Current EVO-ALL wiring:

1.A15 connected to the Start/Stop button wires through the two diodes (combined to a single EVO wire).
2.A14 connected to Hazard lights.
3.Sacrificed key (battery removed):

  • One end of the wrapped coil connected to D5.
  • Other end connected to both D4 and the cut wire going toward the vehicle harness. (that was originally in OEM trasponder connector pin 2)

4.D6 connected to Pin 2 of the OEM transponder connector.
5.D3 connected to Foot Brake and D2 connected to +12V.
6.C3 and C4 connected to CAN High and CAN Low respectively.

Programming procedure used (while the wrapped sacrificied key w/o battery is wired as per the above)

1.Press and hold the programming button then connect the 4-pin Data-Link connector.
2.Release the button when the LED turns solid blue.
3.Connect the remaining A, C, and D connectors.
4.Ensure the healthy SmartKey (the one with battery) is inside the vehicle.
5.Press the Push-to-Start button once to turn ignition ON.
6.Press and release the EVO programming button once.
7.Wait for the blue LED to flash rapidly.
8.Press the Push-to-Start button once to turn ignition OFF.

I have enabled options A1–A10 as instructed (although i am not using some of these options like Door Locks, Trunk Release, Heated Seats, AUXs & Hand-brake)
I am also enabling C1 for OEM remote monitoring, D1.1 for Lock-Unlock-Lock, D1.6 for 15 minute runtime and D6 for push to start

Could you please review the above wiring and programming sequence and confirm whether they are correct for my vehicle setup?

Programming and connections sound about right too.

Thanks a ton  It finally worked provided that a healthy key with battery is present during programming for the ignition to be turned on.

I have a final request if possible, I want to have a horn chirp (single horn) for acoustic feedback when the remote start sequence is triggered or successful such that i can know that the engine is now running (hazards are not sufficient alone & i need sound feedback as well).

Do we have any pin that outputs a one time ground signal (or even +12v) when remote starter is triggered that i can connect it to the horn circuit ? Note that i am using only OEM remote and evo all as standalone remote starter without external RF kit

No, there is no output that will pulse the horn (either - or +) at remote start.
