2024 Grand Highlander Dcryptor Procedure not working

0 votes
Hi,

Evo One 2019 with the QR code, firmware 88.37. I have the THAR-TOY16 harness installed but when I try to follow the Dcryptor Programming Procedure, it fails at step 5.

1. I plug in the 6 pin connector holding the programming button. I get the flashing LEDs as described.

2. I release when it's blue and it remains solid blue.

3. I plug in the rest of the connectors.

4. I press the Push-to-Start twice to turn on the ignition and the blue LED goes out and then comes back on flashing rapidly.

5. I press the Push-to-Start once to turn off the ignition and instead of the blue LED continuing to flash rapidly, it goes out and doesn't come back on.

Hello,

What is the S/N number on the back of the unit?

Best regards

Firmware looks good, when you turn the ignition off you need to press unlock on the OEM remote, step 6: https://fortin.ca/download/111401/EVO-ONE_IG_THR_BI_TOY16_GRAND-HIGHLANDER-PTS_2024_A_111401.pdf
Yes, I have tried that and didn't get any lights at that step either. Should I just try and proceed through all the steps even without getting the LED indications that the document says I should be getting?
Try performing a master reset on the unit, then re attempt the in vehicle programming.

Master reset procedure:

- hold down programming button

- insert power connector

- let go of prog button on the red led

- hold button down till all 3 led's begin to cycle

You will need to re enable any vehicle specific options after the master reset has been performed.

Best regards
That did it. Kinda embarrassing I didn't think of that. I pulled this out of a 2017 Rav4. I assumed the firmware update plus reprogram for the new vehicle would be fine.
Awesome glad that got it sorted for you, all the best!
