Passlock SL2 V2 flashing 5 times when tring to program. Truck starts then dies. Security light flashing.

Hi all,
I have a 1998 Chevrolet k1500 with a EvoStart E400 and Passlock SL2 V2.
The remote start was working fine for years (installed in 2016) and after sitting for a long time without a battery it is not working anymore.

Using the remote, the truck starts but dies almost instantly, with the "security" light flashing in the cluster.

Truck starts fine with the key, "security" light turns off, no issue.

I looked at the wiring diagram, the current wiring match the PASSLOCK1 schema.
I tried to reprogram the Passlock SL2 multiple times, but everytime the LED flashes 5 times.

Any idea?

Hello,

Since the battery was dead for a long time I would ensure it is between 12.2 & 12.6V when re programming the module to the vehicle.

When you remote start the vehicle does the led on the pass lock sl2v2 turn on?

Battery is brand new, just put a new one in a couple of days ago.

Yes the LED turns on solid.

Does idle mode work?

Idle mode is when you send the remote start command with the engine already running by the key, then once the starter engages you turn the key off and take it out, the engine should continue to run.

Also have you tried re programming the passlock sl2v2 with a different key for the vehicle? If not would be worth while to try.
