2020 Honda Civic auto-locking when closing door

Hello, I've noticed something odd when getting out of the car. When I dis-engage the ready mode (foot on brake, parking brake on, foot off brake, then tapping the brake once more and turning the car off with the push button) I noticed that after opening the door and closing it after about 3-5 seconds after the doors auto-lock, with the fob still in the car. When I have my fob with me, the car normally locks when I walk away, and I still at least have time to walk around to the other side of the car(or any other door) before it locks.

Thank goodness I either had access to the spare fob, or the windows were rolled down and I can grab my bag with the key in it, but is there any way to disable that from the module?

What is the 12 digit SN written on the back of the module?

 

The OEM Walk-Away feature and the relock after remote start shut down are two different things. One goes by distance while the other is by time. Aftermarket systems cannot monitor if the factory remote is in the vehicle, the doors will lock no matter what.

 

Also note, the proper sequence for Ready-Mode would be:

1- Press on the brake
2- Engage the e-brake
3- Release the brake
4- Open a door and step out the car (with the key)
5- Close door, remote starter shuts down and shuts down vehicle.

 

If you are using after market remotes, the system can be programmed to shut down on lock instead of door closed. Similarly with aftermarket remotes, you can do Ready Mode with the door open -this enables Idle Mode. Instead of the remote starter shutting down on door closed, you could shut it down with aftermarket remote afterwards.

I usually hit the brake after ready mode is engaged to dis-engage it. If I push the stop/start when ready mode is engaged, it give me a keyless system error, that doesn't go away until I restart the car twice. I guess what I'm asking is, is there a way to set OEM priority on the lock/unlock, and disable that from the remote start unit?

The proper method is like what I mentionned. The module takes care of pressing the PTS to shut down the car down. 

1- Press on the brake
2- Engage the e-brake
3- Release the brake
4- Open a door and step out the car (with the key)

5a- Close door, remote starter shuts down and shuts down vehicle.

5b- The unit can be programmed to shut the car down on LOCK instead of door close but this typically requires using aftermarket remotes and not the factory remote.

By defeault a remote starter will always send a re-arm after remote start shut down simply to make sure the vehicle is armed. 

At the moment, your unit has option D5 enabled which will also force a relock/rearm on shutdown. You can turn this off.
